The must-sees of Georgia

Upon arrival at Tbilisi International Airport, our driver will greet you with a sign presenting your name. Transfer to your hotel.

Overnight in Tbilisi.

In the afternoon, visit the National Museum and its collections of "golden treasures" from the ancient period. Continue to the main Rustaveli avenue, and at the end of the day visit the Dry Bridge with its flea market.

Visit to the Bodbe monastery, where Saint Nino stopped to rest during the spread of Christianity in Georgia, and learn about the history of the evangelizing saint, a very important figure in Georgian religion.

The journey continues to the small, charming town of Sighnaghi, with its cobbled streets and historic wall. Admire the splendid panorama of the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus.

The tour continues to the local wine house with an old wine cellar, where you can learn about the traditional Georgian method of wine-making, very different from European practice. Tasting of local Qvevri wine.

Visit Tsinandali, a historic palace and winery once owned by Alexander Chavchavadze, a 19th-century aristocratic poet. The palace building represents Georgian architecture with Italian inspiration.

Arrival in the capital and historic city of Kakheti - Telavi.

The next stop is Alaverdi Cathedral, dating from the 11th century.

Explore the Ikalto monastery and the ruins of its academy, where the eminent 12th-century poet Shota Rustaveli, author of Georgian literature's great masterpiece "The Knight in the Panther's Skin", studied.

On the way to Kazbegi, visit the Ananuri fortress, offering a picturesque view of the Jinvali reservoir. Cross the Georgian military road and the Cross Pass, at 2300m altitude, with breathtaking panoramas on this beautiful road.

Arrival in Stepantsminda - the administrative center of Kazbegi.

Departure for Mtskheta, the former capital of the Kingdom of Iberia, to visit the 11th-century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral ("life-giving column"). Free time to stroll around the city. At sunset, visit the Jvari ("Cross") Monastery, perched on a hill overlooking the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers.

Discovery of the abandoned town of Uplistsikhe, founded in the late Bronze Age and one of the oldest settlements in Georgia, overlooking the Mtkvari River.

Continuing on to Borjomi, a spa resort remarkable for its natural mineral springs. Visit Borjomi Park and taste Borjomi's special mineral water.

Arrival at Akhaltsikhe.

Return to Tbilisi via Tsalka, on the way visiting the Poka Monastery on the shores of the Paravani alpine lake, with its panoramic view of the Lesser Caucasus.

Overnight in Tbilisi.

Transfer to the airport according to the flight schedule, departure.
