Sport activities in Georgia
The relief of the country and the rivers give us lots of possibilities of rafting in different regions. Teams of certified instructors will organize rafting for you on the rivers: Rioni (in Ratcha-Lechkhoumi and Imereti regions, even in Kutaisi). Rioni is the number one river in Georgia according to its annual flow rate and is therefore the best place for rafting all year round. Rafting is organized near Batumi on the Adjaris Tskali river, on the Aragvi river not far from Tbilisi and on the Mtkvari river near Vardzia – the cave site. (For beginners Aragvi and Mtkvari are more relevant, for those with experience Rioni, Tskhenis Tskali or Engouri). Rafting very interesting activity, full of emotions. Safety is guaranteed: the boats are of good quality as well as the necessary equipment. Participants receive exact instructions and are accompanied in this adventure by one or two instructors. Children are also allowed to go rafting in certain places.

Kayaking
Georgia is known in the region of Caucasus for the abundance of water springs that allow visitors to enjoy various water activities. This time we invite you to try Kayaking on Georgian rivers. Kayaks of different sizes (from 1 to 4 people) are available for you. Kayaking is done on rivers as well as on lakes. We organize competitions if you are interested in doing it with friends. Safe is always guaranteed by experienced instructors and the necessary equipment.
Sailing
If you are near to the Black Sea cost, this activity is for you! With Kayaking or Rafting you will be able to practice sailing too. Maybe it seems that this sport is only for those who have a lot of experience but it is not true-with a good instructor anything is possible. Small sailing boats and of course the sea wind both are at your disposal to spend the unforgettable time. A small town of Poti by the Black Sea has a great tradition in this sport, so we invite you to visit this town which offers you on the one hand different activities on the water and at the same time it is a portal to Kolkheti National Park – a magical place where you can take a long boat ride to contemplate the beauty of the park.
Extreme sports on the sea
For those who adore the extreme and seek strong emotions, Batumi – a city by the Black Sea will guarantee a great adventure. If you have dreamed of being a pilot but you have not been able to realize your dream, do not hesitate to experiment hang-gliding. With an instructor who will accompany you fly over the Black Sea (a small part of course). It is also possible to experience a parasailing which is carried by a yacht which regulates the speed and direction of flight. Please take into account that these activities take place only in summer.
Walking activities
Hikes
If you are not interested in water activities that require very good physical shape but still want to stay active, hiking is for you. In the mountains, on the banks of rivers or lakes and in the forests, you will discover tracks for long or short hikes. The beauty of the surrounding nature, the calm and the fresh air will accompany you during your activity. Hikes are possible all year round, you simply have to choose the place carefully so that snow or rainy weather does not prevent you from walking.
Trekking
If you are looking for something more strenuous than hiking and are prepared to walk for long periods of time over difficult terrain then trekking is perfect for you. The high mountains of Svaneti region, Kazbegi, Tusheti etc. are ideal for lovers of Trekking. You will recharge with immense energy during 7-8 hours of walking with the local guide who will help you orient very easily in nature. In fact, last year we did a trek in Borjom-Kharagaouli National Park, which took me about 5 hours, but walking in the middle of nature, surrounded by green trees was so refreshing that we would repeat it with pleasure and why not you?
Mountaineering
A more advanced level is mountaineering on the highest peaks of the country. But be careful, if you want to do mountaineering it is necessary to estimate your skills and physical shape, to have consultations with local specialists and only then choose the place where you will engage in mountaineering. For beginners (but good walkers) Mkinvartsveri (5054 m) in Stepantsminda – the best season lasts between second half of summer until September, for good walkers (in good physical shape) 9 hours is enough to go up and down, if the weather is good and Mount Abuli (3300 m) in Samtskhe (1 day to go up and down) is recommended. The most difficult is Mount Oushba (4710 m) – to climb you will need a lot of experience in the field and at least 4 days but it depends on the weather, the same with Tetnouldi (4858 m) which takes about 4 days to climb and descend and is one of the most difficult mounts for mountaineers. Do not forget Shkhara (5193 m) the highest mountain in Georgia and very difficult to climb (14 days to climb and descend). For those who are passionate about mountaineering is not strange that good equipment and the local guide who knows the place are essential.
Bike sport
Bike-sport maybe? Why not? Where? Almost on all the type of relief. In Georgia you can cycle in the mountains (in Svaneti, for example), in the semi-desert area of the Vachlovani National Park or on the shores of the Black Sea – on the places specially reserved for cycling. Everything you need for this activity can be rented on site. Local guides will make your visit more pleasant and easy to carry out. Personally, I have cycled in Batumi because it’s more comfortable for me and for someone who isn’t professional in the bike sport, but if you’re a professional, don’t hesitate to bike in mountain region of Svaneti.
Enduro
If you are passionate about Enduro motorcycle sport, Georgia clubs will help you experience it in our country. Always on different reliefs with the supervision of the instructors you will have a lot of fun. Motorbikes are available on site, the place can be chosen according to your interests: in the mountains, on the hills, on muddy tracks or in the forests – the very strong sensations are guaranteed.
Jeep-tours
Off-road jeep tours attract many visitors. Some roads in mountainous areas are ideal for jeep-tours. The semi-desert area of Vachlovani National Park is one of the best places to go off-roading. This adventure took us about 5 hours and it was just unforgettable. To make a jeep-tour you can rent a 4×4 and bring a GPS but also it is possible to find people who drive the car and know the roads.

Snowboarding is also very popular. So, if you like winter sports do not hesitate to visit our resorts which are relatively cheap compared to resorts in Europe even if their quality is not inferior.
