Arrival - Tbilisi

Arrive in Tbilisi, meeting by the driver and transfer to the hotel.

Transfer: Private vehicle, around 00h30, 20 km. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Visit one of the most charming capitals - Tbilisi

Discover one of the most charming capitals – Tbilisi. We start our discovery from Metekhi Church and the plateau which unfolds superb views over the old town and the mount Mtatsminda. Continue towards Abanotubani (district of baths) known for its Sulphur hot springs, strolling around old district with paved streets and traditional houses with wooden balconies, at the bank of Mtkvari river. Visit Narikala Fortress - the ancient symbol of the city.

In the afternoon we continue to the National Museum, admire the collections of “golden treasure” from the antic period.

Walk at Liberty Square and the main avenue Rustaveli.

Walking hours: around 3h. Overnight in Tbilisi.

Visit UNESCO Sights of Mtskheta and rock-hewn town Uplistsikhe

Departure to the old capital of Iberia kingdom – Mtskheta, visit the ancient temple dated back to the 6th century - Jvari (Cross) Monastery perched on a top of the hill and opens picturesque view at the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers. Continue to the nest architectural wonder and the religious center of Georgia - Svetitskhoveli Cathedral ("Life-giving column") dated back to the 11tcentury.

Departure for the central part of the country, Shida Kartli region and the soviet city -  Gori. Gori and its surrounding area are notable with the cultural and historical landmarks. Although for many foreigners Gori is known as a hometown of J. Stalin, here we can visit the house-museum of Stalin.

Then we discover an ancient rock-hewn town Uplistsikhe located close to Gori - dug into the rocks dated back to the late Bronze Age and once played an important role in Georgian history and culture.

Continue to the West part of Georgia via Rikoti Pass. In the evening, arrive in Kutaisi – the second city of the country.

Visit Kutaisi and its cultural heritage: Bagrati Cathedral and Gelati monastery

In the morning, we start our discovery of the city Kutaisi, visit very colorful agro market and the cultural heritage which are recognized by UNESCO: Gelati monastery and academy – the educational and cultural center, the illustration of the Georgian culture since X C until the XVIII C, the masterpiece of the Golden Age of medieval Georgia. Continue to visit Bagrati Cathedral which is recently renovated and represents the symbol of the city, dated back to the X century.

Departure to the South, a short stop in Borjomi, visit Borjomi Park where we can taste natural mineral springs.

Arrive in Akhaltsikhe.

Transfer: Private vehicle, around 3h, 175 km Walking hours: around 2-3 h. Overnight in Akhaltsikhe.

Discover splendid cave town Vardzia and the alpine lake of Paravani

Visit Vardzia Cave Town – a monastery complex caved into the rock, jewel of medieval architecture (XII-XIII CC), the cave was comprised of 3 000 rooms in 13 storeys that served as cells, living spaces, stables, libraries, treasuries, cellars, shops and even pharmacies, the multi-storey caves were connected by the narrow tunnels.

Return in Tbilisi, on the way visit it is possible to stop at Poka monastery located at the edge of the lake Paravani surrounded by the Lesser Caucasus mountains.

In the evening, arrive in the capital.
